Claire Paul
Claire Paul loves the community of singers, and always makes harmony singing a priority. She grew up singing rounds taught at her family’s camp on Orcas Island, performing in high school musicals, and touring with college choir. She toted a karaoke machine with her when she taught management training workshops so she could get the chance to sing while on the road. She recorded an album with her band The Voyants, as well as providing high soprano vocals (dolphin woman) as a guest musician on several albums, then wrote & recorded Transforming Business before teaching listening skills and training design at Cabrillo.
In the 1990s she got the a cappella bug, singing with Gail Swain in What Four! and went on to sing a cappella with Naked Voices, the Eclectic Company and Amaranth. In 2000 she married her favorite harmonizer, Jerry Paul, and they had 20 ensembles of friends at their reception. She managed to work in singing with Cabrillo Jazz Singers, with an Andrews Sisters style trio and the Raging Grannies while building a non-profit event management business. She sang with Mount Madonna Choir for 18 years, then with the Full Spectrum Chorus, Pacific Voices and today the Amica Women’s choral collective. She is a song leader with the Santa Cruz Threshold Singers, training volunteers to sing at bedsides.
Making music with Gail, Karen and Russ in Healer Trio brings it all together: transforming energy, collaborating on arrangements, connecting with each other and our audiences with great harmonies. I love it!
